Concept Artist & Art Director
Floris Didden is a Concept Artist and Art Director working in the games industry and other creative fields. He grew up in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and is currently living and working in Berlin, Germany. He studied Game Design and Development at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht.
In 2008 Floris co-founded two times Emmy award winning design studio KARAKTER.
Floris has contributed extensively to Guerrilla Games Killzone franchise and more recently their new IP: Horizon Zero Dawn. In 2010/11 he spent six months on location at Crytek to help establish the Art Direction for Ryse: Son of Rome.
Floris has been working as a visual effects concept artist for HBO’s Game of Thrones and spent a month on site in Belfast in 2015 developing the look of several key locations in Westeros.
In 2014 Floris was invited to take part in the “Fays, Fairies & other magical creatures” exhibition at the Mediamatic gallery in Amsterdam. In this he made his first foray from the digital to the physical with his “Fairy” installation.
Floris has a love for creating worlds from a culturally rich core to fire up the imagination of the teams he works with. After years in the game industry he is now also exploring other creative fields to fuel his imagination.
